Food is Great, a divine intervention on my gastro needs, what is so awesome is the menu selection can be customized according to your cravings. Staff are very friendly, my family and I felt very special that night. We treated like family guest on main entrance. Aside from great food, staff are a Star, an asset to the restaurant ( can we bring them here in US). Ambiance is remarkably well, designed in an old fashion way. My child loves those retro effects. Location is not an issue because of huge parking space.

Faith C- 01:30 02/21/23

Real Customer Reviews at El Union Coffee:

Zerudite- 10:02 04/25/23
A hidden pearl along the shores of the once sleepy town of San Juan, El Union Coffee has blossomed into a bustling hotspot for coffee enthusiasts and foodies alike. With a humble beginning as a coffee shack, this cozy café has transformed into a committed supporter of small-scale coffee farmers, sourcing their beans directly without middlemen. My experience at El Union Coffee was delightful, albeit the long wait times due to the surging popularity of the place. But the food and coffee were worth the patience. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the air as I sipped on their specialty brews sourced from local farmers in the northern Philippines. The care and transparency in their direct trade with coffee-farming communities truly stood out.The menu offered a delightful range of options for both coffee and food lovers. I indulged in their scrumptious lunch options, savoring the flavors of their thoughtfully crafted dishes. The blend of locally sourced ingredients and innovative flavors was truly a treat for my taste buds.El Union Coffee's commitment to supporting local farmers and their future plans of setting up their own farm is truly commendable. The passion and dedication of the team, including their alumni turned coffee entrepreneurs, is evident in every sip and bite.If you're in La Union, a visit to El Union Coffee is a must. Be prepared for the crowds, but rest assured that the food and coffee will leave you craving for more. A culinary experience that will awaken your senses and leave you with a taste of the Philippines' rich coffee culture. 4 stars!

Mark Daniel Pattaguan- 14:31 04/18/23
IF YOU ARE VISITING LA UNION, YOU SHOULD NOT MISS THIS OUT. QUEUE AT YOUR OWN RISK, BUT IT'S WORTH IT.Out of the drinks we've ordered in our group, the one I bought was rated best. It was the classic "Cold Brew Latte" everything else tasted great, but this stood out.Enjoy!

Maysheen Tiu- 08:11 07/27/22
Still the best place to dine in LU, in my honest opinion. The coffee is good, even the food is good. The place can get packed though, so be willing to wait in line. Don't fret as their system is very efficient, you're right at the counter in no time. Be mindful on their break times! And they also close early.

Jaye Aleta- 07:45 05/17/22
It’s best to line up as early as 7am to beat the crowds of people lining up for their coffee and food. Although we wanted to try their smores, they were sold out (or permanently taken off their menu? Unsure), so we opted for the french toast and grilled cheese.Food was great, the grilled cheese hit just the right spot, especially if you’re looking for some comfort food. French toast was good but may be too sweet for some. Coffee is good, we tried their dirty horchata and it was okay. Their beans are quite expensive if you want to take some home.Other than the long line of people, the ambience and “vibe” of the place was relaxed and homey. Not a lot of seats inside but you can go around the area as there are seats nearby. Additionally, service was quick and efficient.Cellular signal is also weak around the area, but I think they have wifi if you ask.Overall great experience and would recommend you try it at least once while in the area.

Danielle Veluz- 01:19 05/15/22
"Why go all the way to La Union for coffee and grilled cheese??" The answer is- why not?? One thing I will say though is that the grilled cheese sandwiches here are magic. Fresh brioche -like bread, a rich and generous layer of melted decadent mozzarella and cheddar cheese, all encased in a shiny toasty buttery crust. The sandwich is worth lining up 30 minutes for, which was the case for our party. The coffee, not so much. If you're up and about try to beat the crowd as early as 7am as lines will already start to form for 8am opening hour. I will recommend this but I hesitate to say "highly" 😂

Real Customer Reviews at Gefseis Greek Grill & Restaurant:

Raul Benjamin Libunao- 08:56 04/15/23
We went out to there for lunch and the place was not crowded. We were a group of 5 and the bench seats easily accomodated us.What I really like are the Gefesis Roast Lamb and Seafood Chowder Soup. I like their Moussaka the least.I really wouldn't call their price range worth it, but it really has to do with their prime location in San Juan, La Union. The meals are delicious, but I wouldn't recommend eating here often if you're on a tight budget.

AJ Manalili- 14:29 02/20/23
Place and food is okay. Just expected too much because of the price range since we really can't say that food here is affordable. Just a bit disappointed with the steak, it's hard to chew. But I really liked their Souvlaki. Place is too quiet, maybe add some music just to lighten up the mood. Love the staff.

Kathrina Canosa- 00:07 11/13/22
Did not meet my expectation.First, the staff are not so accommodating. We need to ask for extra tissues/table napkins, they only provide 1 sheet each customer initially.Second, food service was slow. 1 order was served late. We already finished our meals and 1 of us did not eat yet because its not yet ready. The ambiance was just ok.

Myles Chuahiock- 05:29 07/26/22
Gefseis is one of those restaurants that seem pretty ordinary but in actuality, serve good food that fit in so nicely with La Union's casual vibe. Special mention to the juicy lambchops!

Edmundo Antonio Ramos- 05:44 06/10/22

Restaurant is in front of Baluarte Watch Tower and a great sea view. They are accepting digital payments. See photos for the menu list and prices. 🥩

Gemma Rose (GemmaGie)- 01:52 01/13/23
It's my 2nd time eating here and they never fail to mesmerize my taste buds. Unfortunately, the beef is so chewy that it's like bubble gum during our 2nd time eating, but, the rest tastes AMAZING.Also add that the location relaxes us. We can see the sunset and hear the sounds of the beach waves.Oh btw, I LOVE THEIR PASTAAAAS especially the Carbonara and Aglio Olio.Lesson: Do not wear a crop top because you'll leave the restaurant with a food bump hahaha

Rhaymond Z- 05:04 01/03/23
Food is reasonably priced. Friendly staff. Spacious parking area. Dining with a view of the watch tower ruins.

Leny Grace Garcia- 13:46 01/23/22
We loved the ambiance of this place. It is near the well-known Baluarte Watch Tower in Luna. The paintings on the walls are amazing and IG-worthy. They offer affordable and delicious foods. However, we were quite not satisfied with their service because they forgot to note one of our orders and we’ve waited for a couple of minutes. 😅

Maricaaar- 08:16 12/04/21
Very affordable steak house near the beach. Their boodle fight menu is so good and unli rice. A good barkada hangout. Their resto is very cozy. They also have clean restroom. There are many dogs around the resto that make puppy eyes to get food. 😆

Went to La Union for a quick escape from the bustling cityscape. This restaurant is one of the first ones that you will encounter as you enter San Juan Beach area. The ambiance and cozy look made me interested. They did not disappoint when I dine in. Chicken is tasty and BIG. As in B-I-G. Juicy and delicious on the inside. I showed them the bad reviews they had. They admitted that they were just starting when they received the bad reviews. Seems they have come a long way. Kudos to the staff and the management!

Daryl Hannah- 03:21 03/11/23
5 stars because why not? Prior to one of the reviewers who mentioned that there were still blood on the chicken, I guess for me I was completely okay with it and it wasn’t that bad. It was well-cooked and fresh. Think of medium rare stake and sushi, it’s all the same. Honestly, I thought Mang Inasal was the best until I tried this. Price was cheap, serving time was not too long, service was okay. This is worth to try. Recommended!!

Timothy Khalil Gagate- 11:10 01/10/23

Yanneil Cabanting- 01:56 10/04/22
The meal is forgettable! Not worth the price of Php 219. The meal we received was incomplete (w/o atsara), reason, they ran out of it. The chicken was so dry (looks cooked yesterday then reheated) and most of the small chicken was burnt.

Real Customer Reviews at Mang Elyu's Boodle Island:

Glenn Carlo Clavel- 00:16 12/15/22
Food is sooo bad! While I understand that since we got the KTV room, the food is expectedly a bit more expensive, but their food is too expensive for the taste.Feels like we wasted money here. Don't ever go here. The place also feels disconnected from the rest of Urbiztondo so it might be a struggle to walk at night or midday.

Paula Macatangay- 08:01 11/19/22
Fast customer coordination when it came to booking the KTV room in advance, but took three (3) weeks for a refund when our trip got canceled because of a super typhoon! Kung hindi ko pa kinulit on the third week at tinawagan yung phone number nila, baka hindi pa mapa-process.Do better for your customers, Mang Elyu's.

Jashon Ray Fabia- 12:12 04/02/22
We ordered and were promised that the food will be served after 15 minutes. 40 minutes later, we followed up and were told that they're already cooking it. 15 minutes after, he came and said that they don't have any food anymore. We were so hungry and waited.

Real Customer Reviews at Kermit La Union:

Gabriela Paz- 07:59 02/07/23
Big servings very good place for sharing. The pasta we got was the shrimp scampi which was a 10/10 and the truffle pasta which was nothing spectacular 7/10, the 4 cheese pizza was crispy and delicious. We went here for dinner and they played really nice throwback hiphop and r&b music (depends on the dj), they also serve cocktails at 250 which are okay standards for beachfront places. Atmosphere was nice and cool at night and it was easy to get a table when we arrived and food was serve pretty quickly too.

JE Ramos- 02:56 01/04/23
1. Big serving. Steak, pasta, cocktails are superb quality.2. Servers are always happy to assist you and asks how's the food.3. Atmosphere is relaxing, mostly young professionals and classy students are here enjoying stories, food, view and the beach.

Rea Malonzo- 13:21 12/03/22
The food and ambiance was great. You'll have a great view of the sea. Service was fast as well and price is acceptable. They only accept reservations until 6 pm. I recommend ordering their Pizza Burratta, Truffle Pasta, and Kermit Salad.

Paul Abordo- 02:54 06/23/22
An exciting place to dine, everyone is friendly and accommodating even the owners who waited for us to finish our late dinner.Highly recommend place to dine with family, friends and love once, or even just for self reflection. The variety of food is above and beyond our expectations. Flavorful!Make sure to be early as this place gets crowded. But the staff makes sure that you are taken care of.The alcoholic drinks are well mixed, you may request to how you like yours as well.Last call is around 9:00pm, they politely inform their customers of such. This is also self-service, as this is a homey place.Don't take my word for it just go and experience it for yourself.

Rajesh Somasekharan- 05:39 03/12/22
Writing a review after a long break due to COVID. We were on a weekend getaway in Aureo La Union and decided to have lunch at Kermit. I called ahead to make reservations. Although Google Maps takes you to the right place, finding parking was a challenge. Best to take a trike from where you stay. After struggling a bit, I found a place to park and walked to the complex where Kermit is located on the first floor. After QR scanning and registering, we went up to Kermit and were seated quickly. Ambiance is an open concept setting and is cozy. It's a self-service place, so once you decide , you place the order and counter and pay cash. Yes, they don't accept card payment, but they do accept gcash. Once paid, you get a buzzer which, when activated, you can go pick up food. We ordered the shrimp gambas for starters, Herb crusted mahi mahi with cous cous, Linguine alla Antonio, and a pizza Margherita. I liked the mahi so much that I literally scraped the plate to the last bits. Pizza was rustic and simple, so 5 stars for that. The portion size was good, and the price was lower than we expected. We could not finish the pasta and gambas, so I packed it. Place also has great cocktail selection; sadly, I was driving, so I did not get one. Must remember to take a trike the next time I go there! Overall, great experience.

Real Customer Reviews at Tagpuan sa San Juan:

Kates Ante- 07:28 05/14/23
One of the known food stops in the area, if you can't find this just ask any local. It does have a small menu (mostly Filipino cuisine) with affordable rates --just perfect for your budget. It's dining place isn't that spacious though, just a quaint small space in the side walk. Tourists still come not only to eat but for the vibe as the place is instagram worthy.Ps. I love their donation project. Please support it!

Kristine Joy Victor- 14:26 01/05/23
One of the few places that was open during our stay in Elyu (I think most are closed after new year). Perfect place to get your quick breakfast/brunch fix! Dishes were simple and straightforward. We had bagnet and pares and they weren’t bad for the price! Place is a bit small so tables get full during peak hours.

Krista- 14:18 10/10/22
📌 @tagpuansj San Juan, La Union⭐️ 3.5 / 5🚨 Tagpuan has been a staple in Elyu for so many years but a few things I wish has changed over the years: 1. SEATING - @tagpuansj pls fix your seating so that many people could dine comfortably 2. MENU - as you could see on the pics, @tagpuansj has changed its prices many times over, covering the prices over and over with pieces of paper makes the menu and the facade feels tacky / tasteless … little things like this (maintenance of the place) should have been on tip top shape ~ food is okay and very affordable ~ still worth visiting if you’re here & if comfortability is not an issue for you 😉💰Check pics for menu prices🐶 Elyu is overall a pet friendly beach place ✅

ruruchi- 08:45 06/11/22
The Bagnet and Pares were okay. It was good but there's nothing really special in regards to taste. It's also affordable so it can be a good meal for those who are on a budget if you are in Elyu.Only common problem I have in La Union are the flies. They are literally everywhere so you have to make sure they don't land on your food when eating out.

Danielle Veluz- 01:23 05/15/22
Cheap quick eats appropriate to fill the stomach for a night out at La Union. Generous servings of rice but the meat portions were a little small. Crispy bagnet and rice was Php140, not bad for a cheaper alternative to the higher end restos around the area.

Mitchell Bates- 08:11 03/31/22
A great place for local (traditional) Filipino food. Plus if you give them an extra 50php they will feed someone in need. I thought this was very nice of them. The service is fast and the people are friendly. Smaller portions, but very reasonable priced. Think small meal or snack if you are a foreigner. If you’re a foreigner with a Filipina GF… take her here… she will love it!!

tried the baby back ribs. sauce was too sweet smothered all over the bland pork. had to scrape the pork to put the sauce away (too much) but the pork was tender, falls off the bone. veggies? not too much only 2 spoonfuls of serving. pork chop was great, first slice's thickness was normal, second slice was too thin. vinegar sauce complimented the meat. this place is okay but will still go to try other food

Real Customer Reviews at Clean Beach Coffee:

Love the cool, easygoing vibe here because of the hip, retro interiors. They have a self-service policy, and a lot of patrons stay to work. Their coffee was perfect, and food was good and reasonably priced. The seating area is right across a nice spot by the beach, which easily makes it one of the best hangout spots in Surf Town. I'm happy to come back!

Interior & exterior: 5/5 - the view itself is relaxingFood: 3/5 - small serving for the price. Taste is not exceptional but normal. Coffee, tea & hot chocolate served were not hot.Price: 3/5 - expensive but the view compensatesCustomer service: 2/5 - it’s self service so we didn’t receive any customer service aside from parking. Clean as yo go is practiced.Location: 5/5 - near almost everything. Just by the beach which really is stunning!

(visited March 2022)Our first restaurant when we arrived in La Union and it did not disappoint. It was packed with the weekend crowd but they have a well coordinated, friendly staff to assist people and get seats. The food was really good, I especially loved the kaya toast and even ordered a jar to bring home. Definitely get the big serving if you're a group of people because it's so good. The food is Manila prices, but the servings are huge. The coffee is also really good, and they have fun non-coffee options to try too.The vibe is chill, with an open-air concept by the beach, and the place is pet-friendly. We went there again in the afternoon and it was nice to sit by the bean bags in the sand.Parking is difficult though, you'll probably have to park somewhere else because it gets full easily.

Vibe, check. Coffee, check. Food, check. This establishment is located beach-front, equipped with fast wifi connection so it’s also perfect for work.Pet-friendly. Earth conscious. They’re sustainable too! The business is powered by solar energy which is awesoooomeDuring a friend’s event, I had the chance to order the menu and tasted a bit of everything 🫶🏾 here’s a peek to what the dishes look like!

The place is nice and cozy. I was not able to tour the whole place because there were a lot of people. 😅 The staff are nice and accommodating. However, I was not pleased with the drink that I have ordered which is the Vanilla Shake. It was too sweet for my liking. 😅 Also, the Caesar salad, too ordinary for its price of P200. I am still looking forward to revisit this place soon and try their other dishes and drinks. 🍃
