Real Customer Reviews at Chuan Kee Chinese Fast Food:

Elaine De Los Santos- 12:06 03/23/23
The hype and taste are not worth the long wait. Seriously, the xiao long bao was too doughy and soggy (perfect bad combination!). A lot of items on its menu were not available — including their famous golden lava buchi. They served the most underwhelming lechon kawali that I have ever tasted. The only saving grace was their black gulaman, which was served very late. The staff were very nimble and alert. You cannot get mad at them because you can see they are doing their best to accommodate all customers.

Daryl Joe Santos- 15:31 01/04/23
The waiting line was quite long when we came (around 5 pm), so we waited for ~20 mins before we were seated. We ordered good portions of food to feed 5 people. The food started to come ~10 mins later. Overall, the food is great; most of their dishes are good to try. I recommend the avocado shake when it's available.

Engr. John Dizon- 15:04 09/18/22
The taste and price of each food we ordered were good. There might be long queues for customers due to popular demand. The price was somewhere in between not that low and not that high. Serving is good also.

Booie M- 16:28 08/15/22
I've always been curious to try this place given that most of the time I've dropped by, the queue to get in was almost around the block. Finally, I got a chance to try it.At first glance, I didn't think too highly of the menu choices. Seemed regular stuff. In any event, maybe they did make these relatively "normal" dishes in a really good wayDing ding ding! I really was pleased with the flavors of everything I ordered. Now I know why there's such a huge queue to eat at this place.Oh, if you're expecting "fastfood" prices as they brand themselves as one - you'll be in for a surprise. They are pricier than your average fast food. Still worth coming here despite the long waiting lines.

Tam Nguyen- 22:55 06/16/22
The food was so so, not fresh, most of them are frozen food then been heated/steamed/fried when there's an order for it.-The lava cake was halfway fried with one cake was already dented( not sure if it was from previous table...)-The springs rolls was fried in a hurry so that they're not much crunchy and taste not good inside.-The black chicken soup was just a little with one thigh of chicken, quite disappointedThe food quality really needs to be improved, still wonder abt its crowd. Me and my frds all agree not to go again.

Real Customer Reviews at The Great Buddha Cafe:

Carla Bautista- 08:39 02/18/23
Food is good, some items we ordered were a little salty to my liking but still tasted good. Staffs are accommodating and would advise you if the prep time for your order will take a long time. We arrived before 12noon on a saturday and luckily we were first on the waiting list. After we came a long waiting line could already be seen as it was already lunch time. Over all food is great and the price is reasonable.

Patrick Trinidad- 12:43 11/12/22
The only thing that saved this place from a 2-star rating is the ambience. Very Hong Kong or Beijing feels. But the food was too flat tasting and the service took forever! If ever I would come back here it would be just because of the beautiful Chinese Opera characters ref magnets! And that will be the only driving force for me.

Albert Issa- 12:46 07/24/22
The staff are VERY inattentive. The service is BEYOND bad. The food takes a while to come out (not the place to come if your hungry)The food: very average. Maybe even below average. Warm. probably because the staff can't get it to your table quickly enough. The restaurant was half empty so no idea why it takes them so long and they let the food sit there)The tables and chairs are designed poorly. You cannot rest your back or your legs whatsoever. It makes it uncomfortable, especially because you'll be waiting a while for the food to arrive.

Logan Chiam- 06:18 05/20/22
Spacious Opulent Restaurant With Affordable And Yummy Dimsum! Probably one of the few restaurant in Ong Pin/Binondo with nice interior which is refreshing to see in contrast to the hole in the wall eateries around. The high ceiling and purple-centric design is elegant and blends well with Eng Bee Tin’s signature color. The dimsum is superb! Make sure to order the pan fried dumplings! Service is a bit slow so be patient although we went in straight around lunch time on a Saturday, a long queue was already forming when we finished devouring our dimsum. This is a must try when you are in Ong Pin!

Daneyyy- 14:11 05/08/22
The ambiance is nice and the place is neat. I enjoyed their food, but the service was too slow. Probably because they lack manpower. We waited for about an hour to be seated then after we ordered, the food came like after 40mins and the order weren't even fully served. So it took quite a few minutes more before they've completed our order.

Hands the down the best maki - maki mi and siomai in town - classic!!!

Sid Michael- 05:48 04/11/23
Overpriced food for something that taste like its from the hospital. Its too bland! The area is dirty. Especially the kitchen area! Who knows what is in there.Avoid this place if you have other options.

ai aiai- 14:42 04/09/23
I loved the atmosphere here. I ordered Maki and rice, the food was very tasty! I think a small size is more than enough for one person, even though there's a large size too. I wish I could try all kinds of food in this restaurant! Only thing is that they have only 4 tables, so maybe you should avoid a peak time if you want to be seated quickly. I was able to get the table without waiting, but after 10mins many people started to be in line. This place is very popular!

Ghera Ada- 08:46 04/04/23
We went here on a Sunday. No queue I guess because the service is not good. The lady crew is not welcoming. The food is not that good either. Bland. Overpriced too. We order small MikiBihon & 4pcs siomai, it cost us 400++ Also, the server did not even bother to give us condiments etc. She just gave us 2 forks and 1 spoon on a glass of water. All she gave us were side eyes. Not happy with the food and the service.

Myron Montano- 06:21 07/19/22
A bit overpriced for the portion size (210 pesos for a small bowl). For the taste, Yin Nan's Maki Mi is much better/delicious. Too bad that said restaurant was located at Harrison Plaza which has now been demolished.😔

Bob Chips- 05:04 03/25/23
The fried rice was tasty, but it no longer tasted like traditional Chinese fried rice. When compared to previous years, the taste of the food has changed significantly. The spare ribs were chewy, and the pork was old. The oyster omelette was average. Customer service is poor, and more training is required, particularly for the cashier. It's very easy to learn how to say thank you and to be courteous to guests.

vintakis- 16:05 02/16/23
I visited this restaurant in January 2023 and came back the next month. The authenticity of how they prepare their dishes is great. I recommend you to try their "Buttered Chicken and Deep Fried Squid".

M- 21:53 11/17/22
This is a shop to see. Right from the get go they create a great impression with their fun, elaborate and colorful decor. Right now they have lots of Christmas decorations hanging from the ceiling, which makes for quite a sight! The range of hopia in there is impressive. They have quite a few types. There is also an interesting range of frozen food, including frozen soup dumplings and even chicken feet!Upstairs there is a Café, which is a cool place to sit and chill, especially if you've been walking for a while. The CR is on the top floor, and it is clean and spacious. All in all, cool place. Recommended 👍

Anna Monique Dizon- 04:36 09/12/22
Overrated, overpriced, and always busy. They have lots of variants available for their hopia, but I don't like the flakiness of it, so I would always go with their diced hopia. More filling and softer texture.I find their food items overpriced. Most are not even worth the hype. They do not honor PWD and senior citizen IDs for discount. The ube milk tea is really good, not too sweet.

Àlex Marés Garcia- 10:50 08/22/22
What a great place! We went there after strolling trough Binondo with the idea of buying some mooncakes and stayed there also for lunch.Service: quite caotic. You have to wait to be atte ded at door, something we did, but people sneaked by and seated themselves. We managed however.Food: very good! We ordered dim sum, wich was great. Also fried rice, with was ok.Price: not expensive.Place: it's big and luminous, so great.

Ian Jay Francisco- 18:42 07/27/22
Legit and authentic chinese pasalubong awaits here. They are well-known for their Hopia that has lot's of flavours to choose from. They also have their best selling tikoy that have many flavours as well.must visit. expect a lot of customers during the weekends..bits of history of eng bee tin :In 1912, Mr. Chua Chiu Hong established Eng Bee Tin in a simple stall in the heart of Ongpin,Binondo, the Chinatown in Manila. The stall became well known for its traditional Chinese delicacies, such as hopia, tikoy and glutinous peanut balls.Eng Bee Tin is also the pioneer of the innovations in the Hopia, introducing favorites such as Hopia Ube, Hopia Combi (2 in 1 flavor), Mochipia (Hopia with Tikoy at the center) , Hopia Custard and vast variants of hopia.

Shela M. Martin- 21:50 05/10/22
I wanted to get everything here! The prices are very reasonable considering that it’s in the flagship store. It was our first time visiting, and we wanted to go to the museum but it was closed so it would be helpful if they removed the sign that leads to that place or at least put a notice about it.

Engelbert Tabones- 13:54 01/22/23
We do like the Lemon Chicken the most. We got everything in medium size, and it seems to be good for 6–8 people; we should've ordered small instead.Their siopao bola-bola is not so.

Rona Maye Trinidad- 07:45 11/07/22
Went to shop nearby and decided to eat in this restaurant since it’s accessible. The area is quite spacious considering that social distancing must be observed. However, the waitress seems to be unapproachable during our visit. Food is just average. You can get better food somewhere if you’re looking for authentic Chinese cuisine. Price is average and reasonable for its taste.

Keith Salazar- 06:16 08/06/22
Hakaw was too dry but overall beef wanton mami and pan fried pancit tastes good. Cheaper than Hap Chan but same amount of serving.Pancit small is for 2 pax.

Darenn Rodriguez- 13:53 06/04/22
A good alternative to the usual Wai Ying and Ying Ying that are usually packed. The food was good however the salt and pepper spareribs are on the soggy side. I prefer it to be crispy.Pro tip: if you love hakaw, order the shrimp chueng fan instead. It's basically a large hakaw. And it's cheaper considering the size.

cheeny A- 05:29 12/07/22
It was nice to discover this place recently. The ambience was very cool, food also taste really well. We got the braised beef noodles- this was so flavorful, beef was so tender and the serving size was really generous! lava pao and dumplings also taste good.Make sure to arrive as early as possible as the queue gets long especially during weekends.

Lunar Verse- 08:41 12/02/22
CNN Travel has highlighted this restaurant as one of its featured restaurants when in Manila. It is situated in the original Chinatown, alongside Eng Bee Tin. The area itself is simultaneously quite lively and charming. There is a bit of waiting time for your food since the place is always almost full. Both regular customers and inquisitive tourists were crammed into the establishment. Great portions at an affordable price. I really enjoyed the Congee, Asado, Braised Beef and the Chicken Feet! The tasty cuisine made up for the eating area's limited size and unorganized atmosphere. Highly suggested. Finding a parking spot, though, might be a challenge.

Eizen Barleta- 02:17 11/20/22
Cafe Mezzanine is almost always on the lists of must-try restaurants in Binondo, and I can see why. The place is somehow riotous but colorful. If you’re not into busy food places, then don’t go here. The staff members are friendly and attentive. Just be ready to wait since the cafe is usually packed with customers. We waited for about 20 minutes outside, and another 20 minutes to get served.Cafe Mezzanine is owned by the same person who manages Chuan Kee, the restaurant located below them. They have similar menus; the only difference is that the cafe serves coffee. Chuan Kee normally has longer queues.I also like that they share their profits with a specific group of firemen in Manila.Recommended dishes: Chicken Chinot and Asado with Adobo EggThe cafe only accepts cash payments.

Emz Blas- 02:07 10/26/22
Their service is quite fast and their serving is good for sharing. We liked the ambiance of the restaurant and we loved the food. Their xiao long bao can do a little better - the wrapper is quite thick. Their must try dish is the special kikiam and the pork dumplings 👌

Jowee Estefan Gabiano- 08:55 08/21/22
We’re lucky enough to be seated upon our arrival. The place gives an exclusive feel, maybe because it’s located upstairs. Food was delicious! I can’t simply single out one option since I liked everything we ordered. It was my first time trying the pork machang (it’s like paella with braised pork) which was surprisingly good! It ate it as my dessert after the mains, cause it tastes like it. Another thing I cannot forget about is their Lava Pao! It was so good I regret I did not order one for take out. However, their frappes were not that good according to my companion. Too sweet and tastes like overly sugarized.Other than that, it was really a good dining experience in Manila Chinatown!

Great place to stop by during your Binondo food trip. My first vegetarian turo-turo to try. Get their rice plate and choose from 3 different ulams or entrees. I enjoyed the fried rice and ginisang gabi dish. If you like seaweed, sarap din ang seaweed nila. I noticed people coming in for their hot soups. Will try that next time.

Real Customer Reviews at Tasty Dumplings:

Teena Custodio- 22:32 05/10/23
When we went to eat here, there was a power outage, but to my amazement, they continued to cook even though there was no electricity, and the restaurant was extremely warm on the inside; after all, if it was already hot at the tables for the customers, how much hotter could it get in the kitchen? In light of this, the culinary staff deserves praise for continuing to work despite the circumstances. We decided to get one of their famous pork chops, and the portion was shockingly large. This is well worth every single penny!

Winston Pura (Tonton Thoughts)- 02:14 05/06/23
About one of the best places to be #WhenInBinondo. The food is phenomenal. I make it a point to take home silver roll bread buns with Hongma pork despite my long travel afterwards to share with the family. The service is also not too bad. They've gotten used to the many celebrity visitors so they know how to handle customers pretty well without being snubby and cold. The atmosphere is cramped though and that's how you know you're in an authentic Chinese restaurant, I think--focused on the flavor and less on the trappings of a 'striking ambience'. Will be coming back for more of course.

Christine Estrella- 03:59 03/01/23
The dishes lived up to our expectations! We ordered Hongma with the Silver Roll bread, both were the melt-in-your-mouth kind, the beef noodle was forgettable. Hongma was succulent and even the bread you can enjoy it on its own. It has a crispy layer soft and fluffy inside. Overall a memorable dining experience and wish we had more space to order more!

Jasper Tan- 13:29 02/15/23
Tasty Dumplings is always reliable. Affordable, good and satisfying. The restaurant is a bit small and crammed, and the service can also falter during peak hours; but I'd still recommend the place and try their pork chop and dumplings.

Zallei Go- 06:56 11/23/22
One of the oldest authentic Chinese restaurant in Binondo. Located just beside the Miraculous Binondo church. I highly recommend their crispy pork chop. Though the place is very old and small like a typical restaurant during the 80's. Cleanliness i will rate it very good.

Logan Chiam- 06:43 05/19/22
Delicious Pork Chop And Dumplings! Tucked in a quiet street in Binondo is this hidden gem specializing in Pork Chop And Dumplings. The dining area is small and can be a bit of a squeeze when crowded. The staff who assisted us was very nice but the others a bit rude. The food to be honest although tasty (no pun intended) is just average but worth to try! This restaurant can definitely be improved both with service, dining area and food. But is good enough as part of your Binondo food tour experience!

Real Customer Reviews at New Pou Heng Lumpia:

LeWayne Ballard- 17:34 04/12/23
Came here after getting a recommendation from a local tour guide. It's located on Carval St. which is an alley full of many food vendors selling fresh fruits, vegetables, and cooked items. This place will stand out by the long line. You'll quickly figure out the end of the line as it seems chaotic at first. Line moves fast as they're quickly handing out the orders. Lumpia was very large and good. Full of many fresh ingredients inside and very crispy on the outside.

S N- 08:28 03/07/23
The Lumpia was really good! I wouldn't say it is the best lumpia I have had, but I would definitely eat this again, if I could! It's cheap, and the service was quick even if there were a bunch of other people ordering. I took this out and ate somewhere else, though, as they do not have any tables or chairs.

Eizen Barleta- 02:21 11/20/22
New Po Heng serves probably the most famous lumpia in Binondo. I think they don’t have a space for dine-in customers. The place was humble. It’s a mere stand with glass and plastic covers to separate the “kitchen” from the area where the customers place their orders. They put the lumpia inside a styro, along with two packs of sauce. Their lumpia is easily the best I devoured. The tofu and veggies inside create a harmonious taste, but the sauce is the bomb! Definitely a must-try in Binondo.

AJ Peñaranda- 07:07 10/07/22
Simple, yet tasty and filling! The nutty, sweet flavor came from the crushed peanuts, combined it with the other fillings, really wins it for me! It's already sweet for my taste, so think twice if you want to use their sauce. Will definitely come back again!

Kim Sapallo- 07:34 08/26/22
Lumpia is sooooo goood! Not sure about the green thing but i'm thinking its green tea leaves together with crushed peanut. Mixed with the sauce, its a comforting feeling.

I don’t understand the hype. The kutchay pork dumplings were OK, but certainly not the best. They weren’t even that flavorful. I suggest that you eat the dumplings as soon as you get your order, because waiting or traveling them for a few minutes will get them all soggy and sticking to each other. Also, they are only for take out. The place does not have dining area. The staff gave out order numbers, but they did not serve in chronological order.

I honestly don't understand what the hype is all about. Their dumplings are average. I find the wrapper too soggy. The meat inside is kinda bland. Sauce can still be improved. No parking available and they only accommodate take out. Not wheelchair accessible.Service was fast, no long lines when we went here. They only accept cash for payment. If you ask me, will I come back and eat their dumplings again? No. It's not worth it.

I can only say that their dumpling is freshly made, but it is not to my liking. I tried the kuchay pork dumpling. I tasted a bit of soury, maybe because of the kuchay. When we got there at 11am on the weekend there was a queue of people. Their dumplings are available for take out only. You just need to get a number, order what you want and pay for it first, then wait for your number to be called then your dumplings are ready.

Quality isn't the same as it used to be as far as i remember. The wrapper/dough is good but it's too thick.Wait time for cooked dumplings is about 15-20 minutes. No dine in. You can eat it in front of the store while standing or you can sit by the dirty steps 🤣

Flavorful Kuchay dumplings served steaming hot! The store is unnoticeable but you can find them in Yuchengco street with a large tarpaulin at the front of the store. Take out only
